First storm of season causes messy roads

The first heavy snow of the season caused numerous problems on the roadways on Wednesday.



The first incident was a one vehicle rollover on US Highway 51 at County Road S at 7:39 a.m. Tammy S. Beranek, 39, of Tomahawk, was transported by Tomahawk EMS to Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.



The Tomahawk Fire Department assisted Deputies and EMS on the scene.



At 12:30 p.m. a 24 year old Merrill man suffered minor injuries after crashing his vehicle on County Road C east of State Road 17 in the Town of Schley, but he refused an ambulance.



At 1 p.m. a one vehicle rollover in the Town of Merrill caused injuries to a 70 year old Merrill woman.



Joyce Handlin was traveling north on Pier Street when she lost control of her vehicle causing it to rollover near Lincoln Drive.



She was transported by Merrill EMS to Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. The Merrill Fire Department also responded to the crash.



In total LCSD deputies responded to 15 vehicles in the ditch and investigated 10 crashes with property damage during the storm.
