EMU Bluejacks shutout by SPASH, rebound with victory over Houghton

On Jan. 16, 2025, the EMU Bluejacks traveled to play SPASH in a conference game and got completely shutout, taking a tough loss. Goalie Chase Klebenow had a rough night, as play dominated on his end, making a whopping 45 saves but permitting 12 SPASH goals to get through.

On Jan. 18, the EMU Bluejacks played Houghton in a non-conference game at the MARC. Houghton claimed the first two goals in the first period with the Bluejacks scoring one and trying to catch up. Brody Klebenow made the goal for the Bluejacks with an assist by Liam Zdroik.
But in the second period, the Bluejacks turned the game around, scoring two more goals to take the lead. First Connor Zdroik put one in the net with an assist from Brody Klebenow, and then Zach Pagel and Jackson Pierce teamed up to make a second score.
In the third period, the Pierce/Pagel team quickly scored another goal within less than a minute of play, followed by a Pagel/Pierce score close to 11 minutes in. Houghton scored another as the visitors tried to catch up. But the Bluejacks’ Brody Klebenow finished things off with an assist from Connor Zdroik to make a sixth score for the Bluejacks, and the Bluejacks claimed the game’s victory with a solid three-point lead.
Goalie Connor Burton made 23 saves.
