Edward ?Eddie? Gorski

Edward "Eddie" Gorski, 83, left his loving family and friends on Friday, September 9, 2011 at Wausau Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Eddie was born September 27, 1927 in the Town of Corning, Lincoln County, to Bolish and Victoria (Wiesneski) Gorski. He helped his family farm 120 acres on County G in the Town of Pine River, Lincoln County, WI until 1989, when he moved with his brother Felix to 2305 River St. in the city of Merrill. He became a resident of Merrill Harbor House in 2001, and in 2006 he became a resident of Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center in Schofield, WI. Eddie attended Elder Share and was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Merrill, WI.

Survivors include his sister, Mary Brill of Wausau; nieces, Kathleen (Kenny) Yoo, Kenosha, Diane (Jim) VanEyck, Rib Mountain, Dianne Washburn, and Pat (Richard) Santowski, all of North Carolina, Peggy Thompson, Texas, and Bea Griff, Schofield. Surviving nephews include Jim (Dee) Brill, Florida, and Greg (Sheila Fenn) Brill, Kenosha; many loving cousins and grand nieces also survive him.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Bolish and Victoria Gorski, his brothers, Felix Gorski and Joe Gorski and his wife Shirley, his sister Jenny and her husband Peter Nowitzki, brother-in-law, Alex Brill, and nephew, Bill Brill.

The funeral Mass for Eddie will be at 12:00 noon, Monday, September 12, 2011 at St. Francis Catholic Church, 1708 E. 10th Street, Merrill, WI. The Rev. Joe Kleinheinz will officiate. Visitation will be held at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church from 10:30 a.m. until just prior to the Mass. Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Eddie was a loving and gentle man. He was one of God's special people. Those who knew Eddie would agree that no one ever heard him say a bad word about anyone. A heartfelt THANK YOU to his loving caretakers and friends, who became his family, at Kennedy Park Medical and Rehabilitation Center, Schofield.
