Deputies defuse tense standoff situation in Town of Russell

According to the deputy's report the 19-year old was despondent and had armed himself with at least two weapons, firing one of them.

The Special Response Team was placed on standby but when deputies arrived on the scene they were able to quickly resolve the incident. The man was taken to a hospital for an evaluation; he will be referred to the district attorney on a disorderly conduct charge.
