Carol Jean Raasch, 74, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2025, in Sebring, Florida, on her 74th birthday. She was born on January 27, 1951, in Merrill, WI, to the late Victor and Dolores Woller. Her husband Gary was by her side to say their final goodbyes.
Carol was married to Leo "Mick" Terrance, who passed away in 2000. After Mick's passing, Carol met Gary Raasch, and they were married in 2009 in Jamaica. Together, they shared 15+ memorable years of love, companionship, and happiness.
In her younger years, Carol worked on the family farm. She was known for her competitive spirit, playing softball, shooting pool, and throwing darts, always with a fun-loving attitude and dedication to teamwork. Carol was also crowned "The Polka Queen," a title she cherished throughout her life, with polka music filling her days even in her final moments.
After 44 years of dedicated service at Wausau/Liberty Insurance, Carol retired to sunny Florida, where she found joy in daily walks, golfing, and being close to family and friends. She was the heart of many family gatherings, creating memories that will be cherished for years to come. Her radiant smile and infectious laughter could light up any room, making every gathering unforgettable. Carol’s genuine love and kindness for everyone she met left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
Carol's kindness, generosity, and zest for life will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her. Though she is no longer with us, her love and light will live on in our hearts forever.
She leaves behind her loving husband Gary, son Scott (Katrina) Terrance, brother Jim (Kristin) Woller, sister June (Terry) Grabau, sister-in-law Julie (David) MacLeod, stepsons Jesse (Sharon) Raasch, Jeremy Raasch, and Jason Raasch, grandchildren Adam, Allison, Allysa, and Austyn and many dear cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom are better for having known her.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on July 12, 2025, in the upper level of the Town Hall at Willow Springs Garden, 5480 Hillcrest Dr., Wausau from 9:00-11:00 AM. A private entombment service will take place at Merrill Memorial Cemetery.
