The following area students graduated on May 4, 2024, from University of Wisconsin-Stout in Menomonie, Wis. The university graduated 1,037 students, with 828 undergraduate and 209 Graduate School students this spring.
More than 1,500 students graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at spring commencement, held May 11, 2024, at Kachel Fieldhouse in the Williams Center including the following students from our area:
Students from our area were among 676 students receiving degrees from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls following fall commencement in Dec. 2023. Bachelor’s degrees were awarded to 603 undergraduates, while 73 students received graduate degrees.
At graduation, four types of merit awards are recognized:
Senior Merit - Graduating seniors who have maintained a 3.500 grade point average (GPA) for their last 60 credits at UWRF.
Cum Laude - Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.700 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions.
Magna Cum Laude - Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.800 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions.
Summa Cum Laude - Graduating seniors with a minimum cumulative 3.900 GPA for their entire college career at all institutions.

The following area students were named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for the Spring 2024 semester.
Jack Saari of Merrill, Mechanical Engineering, was recognized for outstanding academic achievement by being named to the spring semester 2024 Dean’s List. Students named to the Dean’s List must earn a GPA of at least 3.50 on a 4.00 scale while carrying a minimum of 12 credit hours of graded course work.
The following local area students have been named to the Dean’s List at the University of Wisconsin-Superior for academic achievement during the Spring 2024 semester:
University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh officials recently released the names of students who qualified for the Dean’s List and Honor Roll in spring 2024 across its three campuses (Fond du Lac, Fox Cities, and Oshkosh).
The term GPA requirement for University Honor Roll is 3.3; the term GPA requirement for Dean’s List is 3.75 out of a possible 4.0. Minimum 12 credits enrollment, no no individual grades below a “C,” and no incomplete or non-reported grades at the time the process is run.

The University of Wisconsin-Platteville recently announced Isaac Bixby of Gleason, who is pursuing a Civil Engineering BS, was named to the Dean’s List, honoring students who earned honors in the spring 2024 semester. College of Business, Industry, Life Science, and Agriculture and the College of Liberal Arts and Education require GPAs of 3.75 and above, while the College of Engineering, Mathematics, and Science requires a minimum 3.50 GPA.
Molly Seidler of Merrill graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Platteville with a degree in Forensic Investigation and Psychology at the end of the spring 2024 semester.
