Robert Hinner of Merrill graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in Spring 2023 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering with Honors. Undergraduate students with a cumulative GPA between 3.20 and 3.69 are listed as having graduated with “Honors.”
Just over 1,300 students received doctoral, bachelor’s, master’s, and professional degrees in August 2023 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. While there is no commencement ceremony in August, many of the graduates take part in the ceremonies the previous spring or in December. Degree recipients from our area include:
Ian Springborn, a 2018 graduate of Merrill High School and the first recipient of the Gerald and Charmaine Whitburn Scholarship, earned baccalaureate degrees from the University of Wisconsin - Stout on May 8, 2023. Springborn graduated magna cum laude in two degree programs, Applied Mathematics/Computer Science and Computer Science. He completed his degrees while also fulfilling the requirements of UW-Stout’s Honor College. His senior project, an interactive gaming experience named Bugsby, was developed as a member of a team of students representing the disciplines of art, networking, computer sciences, and applied mathematics. This fall, Springborn completed a 12-week internship with Bracco Medical Technologies of Eden Prairie, Minn. He has accepted a position with Bracco as a software engineer in the cardiology programming and testing team.
Isaac Forrest Young of Merrill was among 1,159 graduates who received degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln during commencement exercises Dec. 15 and 16, 2023, at Pinnacle Bank Arena. Young earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with highest distinction from the College of Business.
