The American Angus Association, with more than 22,000 active adult and junior members, is the largest beef breed association in the world. The Merrill Walmart underwent a 2024 renovation project, culminating in a grand re-opening event on May 17, 2024. In addition to reorganizing a significant footprint within the store, the clothing section and selection saw a new look, and a beautiful mural representing some of Merrill’s landmarks was painted in the entrance. Local students from Washington School came to sing, the VFW presented the colors, and representatives from the Merrill Chamber and City of Merrill were in attendance and spoke. Walmart also made several donations to community organizations as part of the re-opening ceremony, including: Little Lakes Memories, Merrill Area 4-H Clubs, the Merrill Division of the North Central Boy Scouts, and the Lincoln County Humane Society.
