Brian McLaughlin, also known as BMAC, took the stage at 6 p.m. to perform familiar hits for the 2024 season’s first Thorogood Thursday Gazebo Night on July 11, 2024, in Merrill’s Normal Park. At least five different local non-profits set up their concessions or worked the 50/50 cash raffle to provide food, snacks, and beverages for the crowd that braved the intense July sun and heat to relax and listen to music. From popcorn and baked goods to hot dogs and shaved ice, there was an array of options to purchase if attendees hadn’t brought their own refreshments, all raising funds for great causes in the community. It was a hot start to the concert season, and many attendees clustered in shady spots to enjoy the music. Area residents who could hear the music from the comfort of their own front lawns brought out their lawn chairs for the evening, as well. This Thorogood Thursday evening, July 18, Rev. Raven & the Chain-Smoking Altar Boys with Westside Andy will be performing in the Gazebo. Bring the family and a blanket or some lawn chairs and plan to enjoy an evening singing the blues and enjoying more concessions. And mark your calendars for one of the highlight’s of this season’s Gazebo Nights concert series: The Glam Band is up next on Thursday, July 25.
