Bluejays sweep Rhinelander in week 4 trap action

The Merrill Bluejay Trap Team posted a clean sweep over Rhinelander across all four divisions Tuesday, April 14, 2026. All levels are off to a strong start this season in the Great Northern Trap Conference.
Leading the charge on the Varsity side, Mason Meyer turned in a perfect score of 25. Matthew Wiederhoeft and Peyton Hagenbucher each followed with 24s, while Jase Steinagel, Christopher Holz, Alex Petrowski, Hunter Renken, Ean Smith, and Maria Ashbrenner each recorded 23s. Merrill’s Varsity squad finished with a team score of 119, topping Rhinelander’s 110.
On the Junior Varsity side, Collin Gennrich also shot a perfect 25, followed by Aydan Bergman, Tavin Heidemann, Eli Lofink, and Robert Woller, each posting 23s. The JV Bluejays outscored Rhinelander 117–76.
In Intermediate Advanced shooting, Charles Graap, Malayna Kufahl, Wyatt Bergman, and Carson Wallace each shot 23s, leading Merrill to a 113–91 win. Kaden Westrich paced the Intermediate Entry division with a 21, with Jeffery Tomajcik adding a 16 and CJ Rickher and Caleb Steinagel each contributing 15s. Merrill won that division 81–56.
A standout note from the week — Meyer, Gennrich, Renken, and Petrowski each achieved a perfect score of 25. Meyer and Gennrich recorded their perfect rounds during team competition, with those scores counting directly toward Merrill’s divisional totals, while Petrowski and Renken shot their perfect 25s during practice.
