David and Carmen Taggart did a motorcycle ride fundraiser around Lake Michigan and raised money for the pets at the Lincoln County Humane Society (LCHS)! "Such a fun idea!," the staff and volunteers at LCHS said. "Thank you so much for thinking of LCHS and your continued support!" .The Taggerts said, "We raised $863 on Facebook. $50 donation in our name from Chelsea R., a dog bench, and $100 in cash. We rode our motorcycle around Lake Michigan, 1,073 miles in under 19 hours on Sept. 7. We asked that people donate a penny per mile. Some donated much more. We were wanting to raise $300 and ended up earning $1,000. Carmen and I were so happy we could help. I suffer from severe PTSD from combat and my time as a cop in North Carolina. Though we have three cats, I come in once a week to play with the cats. It calms me and is very therapeutic."
