Archie J. Hayes, lifelong Antigo resident, died Mon. July 2, 2012 at Langlade Hospital under the care of LeRoyer Hospice. He was 62 years old.
He was born Sept. 18, 1949 in Antigo, son of the late William and Dolores (Berlin) Hayes. He graduated with Antigo High School class of 1967. He married Cheryl Kolpack on March 31, 1973 in Polar, and she survives.
Mr. Hayes was employed as a logger. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a daughter, Nicole (Steve) Hayes of Gleason; 2 brothers, Bill Hayes of Antigo, and Wayne (Beverly) Hayes of Bruce Crossing, MI; a step-granddaughter, Sara Xiong; god-children, Laurie Hayes and Kelli Reissmann; mother-in-law Arcelia Kolpack; 9 sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Charlotte Horrell, Clyde (Tracy) Kolpack, Calvin (Carol) Kolpack, Christine (Edward) Brandt, Colleen (Tim) Baraniak, Carla (Jerry) Nichols, Evelyn (Richard) Budd, Patrick Kolpack, and Paula (Walter) Wheeler; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Virginia Reissmann and 2 infant sisters; father-in-law, Lloyd Kolpack; 3 brothers-in-law, Ernie Horrell, Orin Kolpack, and brother-in-law Donald Reissmann.
A time of reflection service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Friday at Strasser-Roller Funeral Home. Visitation will be 2-7:30 on Friday at the funeral home. Friends may visit online at www.strasserrollerfh.com.
