Allan E. Lemke

Allan E. Lemke, 94, Ashwaubenon, WI., passed away Saturday, February 22, 2025. He was born April 5, 1930, in Merrill, WI to Edwin and Irene (Bade) Lemke.

Allan married Florence Steidtman on February 3, 1951.   In June of that year, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.  Allan helped to fix bridges while serving during the Korean Conflict. He returned in May of 1953. Allan worked for Leicht’s Transfer and Storage beginning in 1964 until his retirement in 1992.  He was an active member of the Union Teamsters Local 75, American Legion Post 11, and the VFW Duck Creek Post 7534. He was proud to go on an Honor Flight to Washington D.C.  Allan was a longtime member of First Lutheran Church and of German Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening and made the best homemade sausages and maple syrup. Allan loved to carve walking sticks, make furniture, and spend time in the garage tinkering, fixing, and welding. He was happiest spending time with his family especially on road trips. Allan took a driving trip to Alaska, and he proudly noted that he did all the driving.

He is survived by his loving wife, Florence; children, Cheryl Lawler, Deborah (Leroy) Barber, Linda (Randy) Peterman; grandchildren, Beth (Zak) Barlament, Stacey (Brian) Prevost; great-grandchildren, Brianna Prevost, Kendall Prevost, Alexis Barlament; sisters, Beverley Hintze, Judy Haas; brother-in-law, Louis Langhoff; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Irene; grandson, Josh Lambert; granddaughter, Rachael Barber; son-in-law, Jerry Lawler; sister, Geraldine Langhoff; brother, Harlan Lemke; in-laws, Walter and  Anna Steidtman; brothers-in-law, Ron Hintze, Bill Haas; and Florence’s five brothers and three sisters.

Friends and family will gather at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 28; Funeral Service to follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Aaron Schultz officiating.
