Three candidates ran for three open positions on the Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education (BOE) in the Spring Election last Tuesday. In our article prior to the election, we erroneously listed the incumbent candidate as Chad Krueger. I apologize for this error. The incumbent candidate on the ballot was Brett Woller.
Woller, along with two new candidates – Amber De Rizzo and Mike Hornischer – were the three candidates on the ballot, running for three open positions on the BOE, resulting in an uncontested race.
Brett Woller was re-elected to the MAPS BOE with 3,224 votes. Amber De Rizzo was elected to the MAPS BOE with 2,925 votes and Mike Hornischer was elected to the MAPS BOE with 3,138 votes. Each will serve a three-year term of office.
Three of the nine positions on the Merrill Area Public Schools (MAPS) Board of Education (BOE) are up for election each year.
