Wrap Up for the Period of: 12/04/2022 – 12/18/2022

Deputies and units from the Tomahawk Fire Department were on the scene of a car fire for nearly an hour on Saturday morning, Dec. 17. The fire was reported just before 3:00 a.m. on County Rd. S near Road Lake Rd. in the Town of Bradley. Preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle was traveling eastbound on Cty. Rd. S when the driver observed flames coming from under the hood of the car. The driver immediately parked and exited the vehicle, just before it became fully engulfed in flames. The driver, a 35-year-old Tomahawk woman, was not injured during the incident. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
Deputies were kept quite busy in the wake of the first significant winter storm of the season last week, responding to numerous weather-related calls such as downed power lines and stranded or ditched vehicles.
Icy road conditions are believed to be the cause of a one-vehicle rollover crash on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 15, in the Town of Bradley.
Deputies responded to the crash just after 2:00 p.m. on US Hwy. 51, near mile-marker 229. Preliminary investigation of the crash indicated a northbound pick-up truck hit a patch of ice, causing it to fishtail and strike a snowbank, before rolling over. The driver of the truck, a 62-year-old Tomahawk man, escaped injury from the crash, despite being trapped in the vehicle for a short time. He was assisted in exiting the vehicle by a passing motorist.
Twelve motorists reported striking deer in Lincoln County this past week, up from ten the week before.
