The Merrill Girls Varsity Tennis Team traveled to Lakeland Union High School on Monday, Aug. 29, 2022. Lakeland took the win with a score of Lakeland 7 – Merrill 0.
“Emily Frahm made her Varsity debut tonight as a Freshman,” said Brad Barton, Merrill High Girls Head Tennis Coach after the meet. “She has really improved from day to day. What sets her apart is that she is naturally athletic, so her court movement is really smooth.”

No. 1 – Sarah Barton of Lakeland defeated Lauren Cohrs of Merrill, 6-2 , 6-0 , -;
No. 2 – Maria Gironella of Lakeland defeated Sarah Rell of Merrill, 6-1 , 6-0 , -;
No. 3 – Phoebe Wirtz of Lakeland defeated Emily Frahm of Merrill, 6-0 , 6-0 , -;
No. 4 – Norah Strassburg of Lakeland defeated Kaytlyn Hulke of Merrill, 6-1 , 6-0 , -;
The Lakeland doubles teams of Julianna Ouimette/Kristina Ouimette, Cassidy Cleveland,/Hailey Curtis, and Ali Timmerman/Charley Cleveland all took the wins for their matches, as Merrill forfeited them due to not having any doubles teams this year.
