Valentine’s themed event will raise funds for a new sanctuary.

Luther Memorial Church in Gleason is sponsoring a pork-chicken dinner and a gospel music evening at the Eagles Club, 1205 Lake St., in Merrill on Feb. 19, 2022. The doors will open at 5:30, with dinner at 6:30, and entertainment to follow. Daniel and Catherine Lovett, a well-known Appleton duo, will provide gospel music for the evening.
The event is a part of the congregation’s fundraising efforts to help replace the 110-year-old church structure. “This Valentine’s event will help promote the building of a new sanctuary – carport addition to the existing fellowship hall,” said John Skaar, Luther Memorial Church Trustee. “The plans are complete and final preparations are being made to replace the existing 110-year-old structure.”
“Construction is planned for the summer of 2022,” he added. “The antique bell and many other keepsakes will be saved and will be part of the new construction.”
