Free Family Fun Day at the gazebo

On Sunday, July 25, Downtown Mission Church (DMC) will host a day of food, music, and children’s activities, and the public is invited to attend.
“Last summer was difficult for our community with many large group gatherings being canceled due to COVID,” said Justin Novitski, pastor of DMC. “We wanted to take an opportunity to redeem the time this summer and offer something everyone could enjoy.”
Nashville-based singer/songwriter Rachael Nemiroff will share her talents in a worship service at 10:00 a.m. and in a concert to follow at 12:00 p.m.
As a pop worship artist, Rachael seeks to bring hope and light into the world through encouraging lyrics and catchy melodies.
Rachael also has a heart for teen girls and reminds them of their worth and identity. “My purpose is to share God’s life-changing love with others through music. I want people to know that they are seen, known, and loved in this world,” she says.
Local talent, Bryce Thomaschefsky, will play an acoustic set, as well.
The event will include children’s activities such as carnival games and face painting.
Smoked pulled pork, baked beans, and coleslaw will be served along with 1919 root beer floats, and there is no charge.
Downtown Mission Church began services in November 2019 next to the Cosmo Theatre in the building formerly operated as Otts Garage. They meet Sundays at 10:00 a.m. and offer Men’s and Women’s Bible studies on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m.
