Judy Ann Sukow

Judy Ann Sukow went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 15, 2021.  She was born on March 28, 1945, to the late James and Anna (Lunde) Kellar in Merrill, WI.  On September 29, 1962, she married David Sukow.  Together they raised three children: Daniel, Derrick and Diana.  She graduated from Merrill Senior High School and went on to graduate from N.T.C. with a nursing degree.  As a registered nurse, she worked at Good Samaritan Hospital and at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.  She enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting, crocheting, needle point, embroidery, chocolate and Diet Pepsi, but her greatest love was for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her loving husband of 58 years.  She is also survived by her son, Derrick (Renea) Sukow, Merrill, WI, her daughter, Diana (Phillip) Copus, Thorp, WI and daughter-in-law, Susie Sukow, Tomahawk, WI.  Grandchildren: Daniel Sukow, Wausau, WI; Deanna Sukow; Daria (Andres) Camargo; Drew Sukow, Andrew (Marissa) Haring, Greg (Danielle) Haring, Tomahawk, WI and Glenn (Amber) Goldbeck, London, England.  Damian (Jeanna) Lucia, Glenwood City, WI; Gunner (Amy) Lucia, Rib Lake, WI; Dakota (Angie) Sukow, Birnamwood, WI; DeLanie (Todd) and DeLaurie (Dominic) Sukow, Merrill, WI; Greg (Brooke) Williams, Bryan, Ella, Steven Williams, all of Thorp, WI, Phillip (Denette) Williams, Osseo, WI; Isaiah (Kaitlin) Williams, Oceanside, CA, Delaney Copus, Augusta, WI; and 15 great grandchildren.  Brother-in-laws: Leroy Ott, Merrill, WI; Don Kurth, Schofield, WI; Tim (Jane) Sukow, Elkhorn, WI; sister-in-laws, Jackie (Clark) Hanson, Fort Meyers, FL; Jackie (Vern) Kasten, Green Bay, WI, and Wendy (Steve) Hayes, Fond Du Lac, WI, and a very special niece, Brenda Luterbach, who cared for and sang with Judy, along with many more nieces, nephews, and their extended families.  Judy was preceded in death by her son, Daniel Sukow, brothers, Robert and Carl Kellar, sisters, Valeda Carlson, Betty Genz, FloranceKulawinski, Mable Kurth, Mildred Ott and sister-in-law, Kiyoko Kellar, brother-in-laws: Lowell Carlson, David Genz and Richard Kulawinski.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Lisa Weix and all the wonderful ladies from Foundations Home Care that helped Judy when she was still at home.  Thank you to Debbie Kufahl, the CNA’s and other workers at Woodland Court Elder Services.  We appreciate the kind, gentle care that you gave Judy.  We would also like to say thank you to all the ladies from the Aspirus Palliative and Hospice Care.  We appreciate all that you did to make her final days comfortable.

There will be no service or visitation.  Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association of Wisconsin or a charity of your choice.  A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at a later date this summer.  Date and location will be announced in the Merrill Foto News.  Waid Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Merrill is assisting the family with arrangements.  Online condolences are encouraged and may be made at www.waidfuneral.com.
