MHS Senior Erin Kanitz has proven to be a consistent contributor in every hard-fought meet for the Bluejay varsity swim team this season. As was the case last week, when Kanitz turned in solid performances versus Wausau-East (1st place-500-yard freestyle/2nd Place-200-yard freestyle) as well as the team’s near-upset win over the Wausau-West Warriors (First place finishes in the 50-yard Freestyle and 100-yard Freestyle events).
A four-year member of the varsity swim team and team captain, Erin swims competitively year-round. Aside from sports, Erin serves as a lifeguard at the PRMS pool and also had another part-time job. She is a member of the Bluejay Design and Build Team where she participates in creating various posters and banners, and enjoys drawing in her free time.
Daughter of Dawn and Dan Kanitz of Merrill, Erin currently maintains a 3.2 GPA. Following graduation in the spring, she plans to attend the Ultrasound Technician program at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire.
