Crime Stoppers’ ‘Shred Day’ set for Aug. 29

Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County will host its annual “Shred Day” from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29, at the Kindhearted Home Care parking lot, 120 South Mill St.
Confidential Records Co., a AAA rated National Association for Information Destruction (NAID) company, will shred personal documents such as cancelled checks, bank statements, credit card receipts and statements, or other documents “that need to be confidentially and securely destroyed to protect against potential identity theft,” stated a release from Crime Stoppers.
A truck will be on site to shred documents.
“Your documents will be loaded into the truck and shredded as you watch,” the statement said. “A statement of proper disposal will be available. A suggested minimum donation is $5.00 per box or bag, with a limit of 5. Those with larger quantities are asked to make an appointment.”
Donations to Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County are used for the funding of Crime Stoppers’ programs.
For more information or to make a larger quantity appointment, call Ken Neff, president of Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County, at 715-218-0159.
