Electronics recycling event set for July 31, Aug. 2

Good News E-cycling Project will be hosting an electronics recycling event on Friday July 31 and Saturday, Aug. 2 at the Merrill Festival Grounds’ Sell Building. Friday hours will be Noon-5 p.m. and 9 a.m.-noon on Saturday.

Accepted items include:
• Computers, monitors, speakers, mice, keyboards, printers, scanners, computer parts and fax machines.
• Any size/type television, VCR’s, DVD players and gaming systems.
• Cords and wire, cell phones and laptops.
• Air Conditioners and dehumidifiers.
• Microwaves, vacuums, stereos etc.
• Just about any electronic device with a cord or circuit board.

Items which will not be accepted:
• Liquids, paints and chemicals.
• Large appliances
• Batteries or bulbs of any kind
• Newspaper, cardboard or cans
• Ink cartridges or toners
Pricing for most items is $.40/lb, TV’s with compromised housing is $.60/lb and dehumidifiers will be $20/each.

Large business loads will be accepted Friday by appointment only, please call (715) 843-5985. Event proceeds will benefit the Kiwanis of Greater Merrill Area and the Good News project of Wausau. Convenient drive-up/drop-off will be located at the Sell Building’s 2nd Street entrance. Visitors are asked to remain in their vehicle; using Personal Protective Equipment and physical distancing, event staff will unload items and take payment at your window.
