Maple Grove Charter School second grader Athaliah West-Hanson has been selected Student of the Week, for the week of Jan. 13.
Daughter of Kim and Brandon West-Hanson of Merrill, Athaliah was nominated by teacher Mrs. Schuh.
“Athaliah is a very hard working student,” Schuh explains.
“She shows great perseverance in all areas and does not get discouraged when concepts are confusing. She is willing to work with anyone in a group setting. She is respectful to both peers and staff.”
As Athaliah explains, projects with project based learning is her favorite subject in school; “Because I get to pick my partner. I like to pick my best friend and she is a good worker.”
Athaliah’s favorite part of school is working with other students; “I like that we all get to work together. My teachers are so nice. I think all my classes are great.”
Some day, Athaliah would like to become a horseback riding teacher; “My horseback teacher taught me how to ride a horse and stuff. I like horses because they can do lots of stuff, like run around.”
