Construction begins this week on a large portion of East Main Street. Motorists can expect traffic to be minimized to narrow, single lane traffic during the construction period, which is expected to last approximately six weeks.
According to information released by the city on Friday morning, May 31, road construction will begin on East Main Street on Wednesday June 5, from Memorial Drive to Pine Ridge Avenue.
The project will consist of replacing the existing curb and gutter, removing the existing concrete pavement and replacing with asphaltic pavement.
Traffic will be restricted to two 10-foot wide driving lanes, with half the road being constructed at a time. Access to businesses will be maintained during the project. The project is scheduled to be completed by July 19th.
