City Band Pirates return in June Fun Night for Kids

Save the date of Wednesday, June 19 as the city band will open the 2019 concert season with an amazing night of pirate fun for everyone.
There might be a bit ‘o snow by the gazebo now, but it will be gone soon and the Merrill City Band pirates are planning a return to Normal Park!.”
“Shiver Me Timbers II: Music and Mayhem” will open the concert season on June 19, with an evening of pirate fun for everyone. It’s the band’s annual dress-up night, and as many audience members know from past events, this should provide for some great entertainment. Joining the band for the evening will be narrator Dastardly Bootz, a merry bunch of “Thirsty Night Pirates,” vocalist Rusty Pipes Aaaaarrrrrestad, alto saxophonist Sea Monkey Xena, and a children’s choir.
New for kids this year are the giant inflatable pirate ship “Mutiny on the Bouncer” and the giant Kraken slide, opening at 4 p.m. Other activities include face-painting (complete with colorful pirate eye-patch and pirate name tag), digging for buried treasure, coloring and costume contests, prizes, candy, Little Pirate Parade, and more. All kids in pirate costume will get a free hot dog.
Raffle tickets will be sold for the chance to light the fire that shoots the live cannon several times during the night. More information will be coming as the date nears. Rain date for this concert is set for the following Wednesday, June 26th.
Winchester will provide pre-concert entertainment, and concessions will be available for sale from the Lions Club, HAVEN, and the Band Boosters, including; burgers and fries, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, pie, and more. Maaarrrk your calendaaarrrs! Aaaarrrr!
