On Tuesday night the Merrill softball team travelled to Stevens Point for a conference game with SPASH. The Bluejays took an early lead on the Panthers and with the help of Courtney Krueger on the mound, the Jays would hold SPASH scoreless in a 6-0 win.

Merrill grabbed the lead in the top of the second inning, scoring three runs. A walk to Michelle Lahr, followed by a Nicole Zoellner single, put runners on second and third. Krueger then doubled to center field to drive in both runners. Hannah Losee followed with a single to right field, scoring Krueger from second and giving Merrill a 3-0 advantage.

In the top of the sixth inning the Jays would add on three more runs. Zoelner got the Bluejays started with a single to right field. Kamille Ament along with Krueger, would each draw a walk to load the bases. Losee then found the left center gap and drove in all three runners with a double.

Courtney Krueger pitched all seven innings for the Jays, allowing only one hit while striking out five and walking one.

Leading hitters for Merrill include: Courtney Krueger (H, 2RBI, 2BB, 2R), Hannah Losee (2H, 3RBI), Kelsie Belfiori (2H, BB) and Nicole Zoellner (2H, BB).
