Tabor named January MHS Youth Optimist of the Month

The Youth Optimist chosen for the month of January is Allison Marie Tabor.
Allison was nominated by Mrs. Jill Seaman, who writes: “I have had the privilege of being Allison’s Forensics Coach while she was a middle school student. Additionally, I am the principal of Pine River School for Young Learners, where Allison is currently employed as a student worker. Allison strives to be consistently hardworking and efficient. “She is a good communicator in her interactions, takes directions and efficiently carries out the jobs assigned. She is easy to get along with and is kind and understanding of others in her daily routines.”

Mrs. Seaman also states, “It is obvious that Allison puts tremendous effort into being a leader for her classmates and her teammates. She is outgoing and puts her best foot forward to help others see the best in themselves. I rarely see Allison without a smile on her face. She is the epitome of an Optimist in how she engages with our staff and our little learners.”
Allison has been active in Octagon, Link Crew, LEAD, and Youth Apprenticeship. She is a senior class representative and has earned varsity letters in soccer, basketball, and volleyball (where she was also the team captain). Outside of school, Allison volunteers at Saint Francis Xavier Church where she ushers, works the fair food stand, and makes various foods for events. She can also be found babysitting at Pine River School for Young Learners and helping at youth volleyball camp, youth basketball camp, youth soccer camp, hoops for health, and Washington School after school enrichment program.
Allison’s plans after graduation are to attend college and major in elementary education. After that, she might continue her college education with hopes to become a school counselor. Allison is the daughter of Pete and Joan Tabor of Merrill
