Fatal fire under investigation

On Thursday, May 31, at 12:14 p.m. the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a possible structure fire in the Town of Bradley south and west of Tomahawk. Paramedics from Tomahawk EMS, Tomahawk Firefighters and Deputies responded to the scene on Robin Lane and found that a fire had started inside of the home possibly during the previous 24 hours and had extinguished itself.

The lone resident of the home, an 86-year-old Tomahawk woman, was found deceased within the home. The fire was discovered when a family member came to check on the occupant of the home.

The Lincoln County Coroner’s Office and the Wisconsin State Fire Marshal have joined the Sheriff’s Office and Tomahawk Fire Department in conducting the investigation. The cause of the fire and cause of death remain under investigation but no foul play is suspected.

A name will be released when the family has been notified.
