Merrill Police reports

March 18
2:03 p.m.- An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Riverside Avenue. The operator of the vehicle was found to have a revoked driver’s license. The operator was taken into custody on charges of criminal operating after revocation and bail jumping.
4:54 p.m.- Officers took a report of an altercation that had taken place between two males. The investigation is ongoing and charges will be referred to the District Attorney.

March 19
4:07 p.m.- Officers were requested by the Wisconsin Department of Corrections Probation and Parole to respond to their office and take a male subject into custody on a probation hold. The male was taken into custody and transported to the jail.
9:07 p.m.- Officers responded to a residence for a report of two females that had gotten into an altercation. Officers responded and spoke with the one female subject. The other half had left and would not answer the door when officers attempted contact. The other female party called later on to speak with officers. The investigation is ongoing and charges will be referred to the District Attorney.

March 20
5:03 a.m.- An officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver was found to have a warrant for his arrest through Oneida County. The driver was arrested for that warrant.
1:37 p.m.- A male came to the PD to report he was selling an item on Craigslist. Someone had sent him a check for nearly four times the asking amount instructing him to send the difference back via money-gram. The bank he went to informed him it was a likely scam and the check was likely fake. The man had not cashed the check or sent any money. He was advised it was indeed a common scam.
8:55 p.m.- A Lincoln County Sheriff’s deputy stopped a vehicle for a registration violation. He requested a K9 at the stop. K9 Eros indicated a positive alert to the odor of drugs coming from the vehicle. A gem bag containing methamphetamine was located in a passenger’s purse. She was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and bail jumping.

March 21
2:07 a.m.- Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint. The caller stated a female party was pounding on her door and was yelling. The female then left and the caller believed the female suspect was now talking to a telephone pole. Officers made contact with the female suspect and she displayed signs of drug use. She was returned to her apartment but continued to be disorderly and disruptive while at the apartment. The female was arrested for disorderly conduct.
8:16 p.m.- Officers were dispatched to a threat complaint. The caller was following a vehicle after the driver made a verbal threat to harm them. Contact was made with both vehicles. After an investigation was completed, the driver of the suspect vehicle was arrested for a probation violation.

March 22
5:19 a.m.- An officer came across a one vehicle crash. A female was standing outside the vehicle and initially advised a male was driving who fled on foot. After speaking with her further, she admitted to being the driver of the vehicle. Officers located two methamphetamine pipes, a scoop and a baggie that contained a suspected narcotic. The female was processed for operating while impaired and is being charged with the drug possession violations.
3:53 p.m.- Officers responded to a domestic incident. The female caller advised her husband had punched her and left the scene. Officers spoke with the female party and obtained a statement from her. The male party was later located, admitted to striking the female and was arrested for domestic disorderly conduct.
