T.B. Scott Free Library presents ‘Strings in the Stacks’

David H.B. Drake, resident troubadour at Milwaukee’s Irish Fest, will present “Wish I Had a Troubadour,” a concert for St. Patrick’s Day on Tuesday, March 20, at 6:30 p.m. at T.B. Scott Library.
Continue your St. Patrick’s Day celebration as you listen to some great Irish songs while sitting in the stacks on the 3rd floor of the library, 106 W. 1st S.t, Merrill.

Drake appeared onstage and on the grounds of Milwaukee’s Irish Fest for 25 years presenting traditional and contemporary Irish songs, “Boston Irish” songs written in America, songs of immigration, pub songs, and songs of sailors at work and on leave. He has appeared as a “shantyman” with the Wisconsin Flagship, the schooner Denis Sullivan, and on historic sailing vessels on the Atlantic, Pacific and Great Lakes. David has also appeared as a troubadour at Renaissance Festivals including King Richard’s Faire and the Minnesota Renaissance Festival.

He can be heard on Wisconsin and National Public Radio, public television, and in concert at festivals and stages throughout the Midwest. Recent concerts include Irish Fest in Milwaukee, festivals in Rockford, Ashland, and Door County, and appearances at the Oshkosh Opera House and Madison Civic Center. He has several albums to his credit.

Come for an exciting evening of music, conversation and fun. Refreshments will be served. This event is free and open to the public.
