4th annual Remembering Kyle Scholarship fundraiser planned for June 24

Beth Anne Rekowski
Our 4th annual event will be happening in just about a month! All events are held in memory of four-year-old, Kyle, who died of leukemia. This event will honor our four 2016 scholarship applicants and recipients as well as our 14 scholarship recipients from years 2013-2015 (all who applied were awarded scholarships). The critera for this scholarship is very hard to meet! The graduate, their parent or their sibling must have had cancer or they are currently fighting cancer.

The event is going to be jam-packed with music and a pile of fun! It is also very heartwarming and inspiring! We already have a wonderful line-up, too! As always, our volunteers and performers are off-the-chart huge-hearted, time-generous and amazingly talented! So, in advance, our family thanks everyone who is giving of time, talent or money towards this scholarship fundraising event! All proceeds are awarded in the form of scholarships. Scholarship recipients were announced and awarded at the MHS Scholarships & Awards Night on May 25.
Donations can be made at Lincoln Community Bank (in the Remembering Kyle Memorial Scholarship on-going fund), via the online event fund at YOUCARING.COM or given directly to a member of the Rekowski Family.

Pre-event tickets will be sold at these Merrill locations: Lincoln Community Bank, County Market, Piggly Wiggly and from Paul Rekowski at Church Mutual. Tickets will also be sold when doors open on event day at 6:30 p.m. As always, donations above ticket prices would be accepted and appreciated, as the more money donated in this fund, the more money is awarded to the scholarship recipients.

If you’d like to stay tuned for event updates and/or be included for current or future event invites on Facebook, “LIKE” the “Remembering Kyle Memorial Scholarship ~ Night of Music & Sounds” event page!

Any questions or donations can be directed to Beth Anne Rekowski (event coordinator and Kyle’s Mom) at 715-921-2018 or via the event’s Facebook page mentioned above.

Come on out on to the MHS Auditorium to enjoy some great music, while supporting our former and current Merrill area scholarship Recipients and their families ~ and all families who’ve faced the very unwelcomed and insidious cancer beast! Hope to see you there!
