Library Friends? annual meeting features ?Hotdish & Hotflash? humor

Have a great time, enjoy great snacks, and support your library at the Friends of T.B. Scott Library Annual Meeting, at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 29 in T.B. Scott Free Library’s Community Room.
While everyone is welcome and admission is free, you can become a Friend or renew your membership for 2013, for only $5. As a Friend, you’ll get first pick at book sales, as well as that warm and fuzzy Friends feeling.
After a very brief business meeting, Janet Letnes Martin will present Hotdishes, Hotflashes and Hotpads. Martin, a North Dakota native who lives in Hastings, MN, has had a hand in 14 books, two audio tapes and various novelty products based on her persona as a “Norwegian-Lutheran Farm Girl Humorist.”
You’ll laugh, enjoy, and reminisce as Janet brings back memories of country living. Do hotflashes make you feel like the key on a can of Spam that’s gone off-track? Do you remember funeral sandwich spreads, also known as “dead spreads” …or “company Jell-O” -a large bowl of red Jell-O with a single sliced banana floating on top? If you do, you’ll be ready to enjoy a healthy dose of homespun humor from one of Minnesota’s hilarious “Lutheran Ladies.”
The Friends of the T. B. Scott Library, established in 1999, is a volunteer organization established to support Merrill’s public library in developing its facilities and services for the community, to encourage gifts and bequests to the library, and to stimulate support and use of the library. The Friends promote awareness of the function, services, resources and needs of the library-all the while enjoying fellowship with other Friends.
First Street Coffee Station will provide the coffee and the Friends will bring homemade snacks to keep you full and happy. Learn more about the library at www.tbscottlibrary.org or on Facebook at T.B. Scott Free Library.
