On Thursday, Jan. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. a panel of local experts will present specific areas of interest in the healthcare legal arena as retirement decisions loom for the Baby Boomers at the T.B. Scott Library in the Words Worth Hearing Series.
The panel consists of Attorney Craig Nienow, Gregory Gill, M.D., ADRC Benefit Specialist Mary Rheinschmidt, Kindhearted Home Care owner Diane Goetsch, and Thrivent Financial Consultant Bill Smith. Enjoy dessert sponsored by Kindhearted Home Care & Adult Social Center as you ask questions of the panel and are enlightened on the many health, financial, legal topics in the Community Room of the TB Scott Library.
Each panel member will speak for approximately 10 minutes, with a discussion period following. Dr. Gregory Gill, a Family Medicine Physician at the Marshfield Clinic Merrill Center will speak on “Dementia.” Bill Smith has been a Merrill Thrivent Financial Consultant for 19 years and will speak on “Planning for Retirement and Long Term Care.” Attorney Craig Nienow has practiced law in the Merrill area since 1978. His area of practice focuses on estate planning including wills, trusts and probate avoidance techniques. Nienow will speak on powers of attorney for health care, living wills and durable powers of attorney in estate planning. Mary Rheinschmidt is a Benefit Specialist with the Aging and Disability Resource Center (and previously the Commission on Aging) for 10 years. She works with those over 60 years old to navigate the complex world of retirement benefits and will provide an overview of Medicare changes and how it will affect recipients.
The final member and co-sponsor of the Untangling your Healthcare Retirement Options Panel is Diane Goetsch. She is the owner/manager of Kindhearted Home Care LLC for 2.5 years after seeing the need in Lincoln, Langlade and Marathon counties first hand as a medical assistant. The Adult Social Center was added in 2012 at 101 N. Scott St. in Merrill to offer another option in the supportive home care field. Ms. Goetsch will speak on the quality of life and services available to keep adults safely in their homes.
