Geraldine E. ?Gerri? Kufahl

Geraldine E. “Gerri” Kufahl, age 69, of Merrill, died Friday, May 11, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Gerri was born May 22, 1942, in the Town of Scott, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Leo and Angeline (Omeliah) Sczygelski. She married Emery Kufahl on June 17, 1961. He survives. For the past 27 years, Gerri was an Avon representative. She was known for her delicious potato salad. She was a fan of the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and Elvis Presley. Gerri enjoyed visiting and talking with people, polkas, and playing cards. Her greatest joy was being with her family.
Gerri is survived by her husband, Emery Kufahl, Merrill; (3) daughters, Sherrie (Jim) Zortman, and Terri Christiansen (with Kim Kriewald) both of Merrill, and Katie (John) Matyasz, Wausau; (2) sons, Allan (Dawn) Kufahl, Eau Claire, and Jeremy (Therese) Kufahl, Merrill; (10) grandchildren, Becca, Stacy, Jamie, Alex, Kurtis, Tyler, Samantha, Leia, Alissa, and Nolan; (2) great grandchildren, Cadence and Jackson; and (2) sisters, Mary Starzinski, Marathon, and Lizzie (Eugene) Teresinski, Athens. Gerri is preceded in death by (2) sisters, Angie Lemmer and Virginia Wiesneski, and (1) brother, Walter Sczygelski, Sr.
A Memorial Service was held Tuesday, May 15, 2012, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson officiated.
