Gilbert C. Kleinschmidt, age 72, of Merrill, died Sunday, May 27, 2012, at his residence under the care of Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Gilbert was born Jan. 20, 1940 in Merrill, the son of Alvin and Esther (Griggel) Kleinschmidt. Gilbert and Rose Kottman were united in marriage in Merrill.
Gilbert worked at Northern Specialties, and enjoyed riding on his lawn tractor.
Survivors include his wife, Rose, Merrill; daughter Debbie Hoppe; step-children, Clarence Polasek Jr., Marion Streeter, Linda Paulson, and Janice (James A.) Schneider; grandchildren, Amanda and Ashley Zurshuh, and Paul Hoppe Jr.; step-grandchildren, Milton Joseph Fredrick Geise, Charlotte Schumacker, Adrian and Ryan Giese, Jessica Streeter, Scott and Jeffrey Paulson, April Scott, Heather and A.J. Schneider; brothers, Donald (Ruth), Milton (Trudy) and Alvin (Georgia) Kleinschmidt Jr., all of Merrill. Gilbert was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, David, Kenneth and Fred, and sister Pearl.
There will be no services honoring Gilbert’s wishes. Memorials may be made to the family. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
