Ruth Weiss Maley

Ruth Weiss Maley passed away peacefully Jan. 26, 2012, surrounded by family.
She was born Sept. 6, 1920, to Frank and Dora (Cotter) Weiss.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Mary Ellen Weiss (infant), Ann Gavin, Dora Heinzen, John (Jack) Weiss (USMC Iwo Jima – 1945); husband Col. Edmond (Ned) Maley, and son Timothy Maley.
She is survived by daughters Mary Aberg, Peggy (Jim) Cox, Sheila (Tom) Casper, and Daughter-in-law Cheryl Maley and her children; grandchildren Jennifer Aberg (Robert Salazar), Kristin Aberg (Mark Thompson), Elizabeth (Leo) Schroeder, Amy (Tien) Bui, Kate (Sasha) Ebert, Molly (Peter) Shepperd, Ted (Janessa) Casper, Kaley Casper (P. Todd Novick), Elly Casper (Mike Stoffel), Anne (Ryan) Baker, Allison, Bridget and Madeline Casper, Amanda and Spencer Maley; 10 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a Dental Hygienist who worked many years for Dr. George Geist, and St. Paul Public Schools. She was a world traveler, gourment cook, talented gardener, seamstress and a friend to many. She enjoyed playing bridge, swimming, golfing, singing, dancing and entertaining. She was known for her strong Catholic faith, wry sense of humor and sparkling blue Irish eyes.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Feb. 1 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church.
