Editor,

My wife Kathryn and I would like to thank everyone for their support in our new business venture in taking over Dr. Wolf’s optometric practice over the last 14+ months.

As many of you know, I worked in the Wausau area for the previous 17 years prior to taking over Dr. Wolf’s practice. One of the people I had the privilege of working with over that time in Wausau was Barb Kretzer (Roeske). Barb was looking into starting an optical business shortly after the time I purchased Dr. Wolf’s practice. At that time, she had inquired if I would be interested in helping her out a day or two during the week. I told her we could try Thursday afternoons and some Saturdays. I am not sure how long I will be helping out Barb in Wausau.

I just want to make it clear that I am not planning on leaving Merrill to go back to Wausau. Kathryn and I are very happy being in Merrill and have no intentions on leaving.

Thank you again for all your support over these last 14+ months, and we look forward to being here for many more years.

Thanks again,

Dr. Ronald Piffl

Merrill Community:

Are you looking for a way to exercise that’s easy on the joints, relaxing and inexpensive? Well, the Prairie River Middle School pool (MAPS) has a program just for you – WATER AEROBICS, Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.. The water temperature is perfect for this type of exercise (83 degrees).

Come join us for the benefits of water aerobics:

•Buoyancy and support – which makes it less likely for the muscles to get injured. Water supports up to 80% of your weight, thereby causing less strain on joints, back and torso when compared to exercises performed on land.

•Relaxing exercise – it is a refreshing activity and lifts the mood instantly. The water keeps the body temperature constant throughout the exercise.

•Burn calories – water exercise is more effective compared to land exercise. A loss of 450 to 700 calories per hour.

So how about giving Water Aerobics a try, you might like it! “Exercise Made Easy” at the MAPS pool!
