Casey J Daniel Hanke

Casey J Daniel Hanke, 22, Merrill, fought a courageous battle with Lukemia until Sunday, Oct. 16, 2011 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
He was born May 18, 1989 to Darrell E. and Anita (Mootz) Hanke in Wausau.
Casey was a 2007 graduate of Merrill Senior High School. He worked for Rod’s Wrecker Service in Merrill for 3 years. Casey was a great outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, snowmobiling and spending time with his friends. He could also fix anything he put his hands to but his true passion was building trucks. Casey was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Town of Pine River.
Survivors include his mother, Anita (Bill) Holman; father, Darrell Hanke; brothers, Jeremiah & Dylan Hanke; nephew Jeremy Hanke; grandmother, Norma Hanke, all of Merrill; aunts & uncles, Steve Mootz, Gina Mootz, Cara Mootz, Dale (Debbie) Hanke, Karen (Russ) Faber, Karla (John) Dymerski, Dave (Mary) Hanke, and Kathy Myers; special friends, Wade, Sherri and Tiffany; many cousins, friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Leroy & Sandra Mootz and Charles Hanke; and uncles, Dan Hanke and John Mootz.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 21, at Waid Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. David Faulkner will officiate. Visitation will be held 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, and again from 9-11 a.m. before the service, all at Waid Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Stettin.
