February 4
A female was arrested on a probation hold and was taken to the Lincoln County Jail without incident.
Officers had several calls about a male party causing disturbances at several local businesses. The intoxicated male party was located each time and was ultimately arrested for Disorderly Conduct and taken to the Lincoln County jail.
February 5
2:37a.m. – officers arrested a 42 year old male after stopping the vehicle he was driving as the listed registered owner had an active arrest warrant through the Marathon County Sheriff’s Department. The driver was found to not be the registered owner listed with the department of transportation. The driver had recently purchased the vehicle and had not yet transferred the vehicle plates. However, the driver was found to be intoxicated and arrested for second offense operating while intoxicated.
12:57 p.m. – officers were called to a west-side business in regards to an open door. Once inside, the property owner discovered that someone had been in the building and had attempted to remove some linoleum from inside.
4:46 p.m. – officers arrested a male party on a warrant for violating terms of his probation.
11:44 p.m. – officers were called to an address in the 500 block of Riverside Ave in regards to a DNR violation. A witness observed a truck strike a deer in that area and proceed to load the carcass into the vehicle. The vehicle then left the scene of the crash without contacting law enforcement. As a result of the crash a license plate was left on scene and officers learned the identity of the vehicle owner. The vehicle was later located at a residence while officers were investigating a separate incident. Officers learned the driver of the vehicle was inside of the residence. He was arrested for several separate matters. The incident was turned over to the DNR for their review.
February 6
12:07 a.m. – officers were called to an address on the west side in regards to a report of a woman being stabbed in the ear. Upon arrival officers learned there was a miscommunication and the party had not been stabbed, however indicated ear pain. She was turned over to the ambulance crew for medical evaluation.
12:23 a.m. – officers were called to a fight at a west side address. Upon arrival officers arrested the reporting party of the incident who was acting in a disorderly manner and would not leave the scene when directed to by officers. Officers were told that a car of intoxicated youths had left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. While investigating the matter, the reported vehicle in question arrived on scene. The driver of the vehicle was eventually arrested for a violation of absolute sobriety. Officers investigated the reported fight and learned that a 16-year old was struck in the head by a 35-year old male. The 35-year old male was also learned to be the party who had left the scene of a crash after striking a deer on Riverside Ave. The 35-year old was arrested for a probation violation, physical abuse to a child, disorderly conduct and resisting an officer.
12:30 a.m. – officers were called to a report of a possible domestic disturbance at a residence on Pier St. Officers arrived and learned the matter was a verbal dispute and one of the parties had left on his own accord to cool down before things escalated.
2:20 p.m. – officers were called multiple times to a west side address in regards to a couple in the process of separation and the distribution of marital property. Both parties were separated and were advised to handle property matters in a civil court setting.
9:30 p.m. – officers were called in regards to a possible intoxicated driver in the area of Sales St./ E. 1st St. Officers located the vehicle and observed several traffic violations. Upon stopping the vehicle, the 15-year old driver claimed to have a learner’s permit, however was found to not have a license at all. The driver claimed to be practicing for his impending driver’s education class. He was cited for operating without a license and released to an adult.
10:25 p.m. – officers were dispatched to a party lying in the roadway on Prospect St. Upon arrival officers located a male party who had participated in excessive celebration following the Packer’s victory during the Super Bowl.
11:48 p.m – officers were called to a local establishment where an underage party attempted to use a fraudulent ID in an attempt to be served. The patron left prior to officers’ arrival. Investigation ongoing.
February 7
7:58 a.m.- an officer was dispatched to a property damage complaint that occurred 400 block of W. Main St. The victim told police that someone damaged the front door. The damage was estimated at $100. A suspect has been named and this investigation is still ongoing.
February 8
During school hours an officer was dispatched to Prairie River Middle School on information two juveniles were had chewing tobacco by T. B. Scott Library. The officer and a school official located the two juveniles who denied the claim. Two knives, chewing tobacco, and a cigarette were located in the possession of one of the juveniles. Both were cited for the tobacco violation and one was referred to Social Services for the dangerous weapon on school grounds. Both were also warned for truancy.
3:41 p.m.- an officer was dispatched to a property damage complaint in the 500 block of Blaine St. The victim stated someone damaged his side access door to his garage. No entrance into the garage was made and the damage was estimated at $80. This case is still active.
4:08 p.m.- an officer was dispatched to a gas skip at the Holiday Gas station on Center Ave. The parties involved were located by phone after the officer was able to obtain vehicle information. It was found to be unintentional and paid for by the party.
8:52 p.m.- two officers went to a residence in the 200 block of E. 5th St. to attempt a pick up on a 50 year old male party who had two warrants for his arrest for failure to pay his fines. The male was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the jail and turned over to jail staff.
9:41 p.m.- officers were dispatched to “DAT Bar” located in the 1400 block of W. Main St. for a disorderly conduct situation. After talking to the reporting party on scene it was found he wished not to file charges but knew the 22 year old suspect was in violation of his probation. The suspect was located and found to be highly intoxicated. Probation and Parole placed a hold on the male party who was then taken into custody for the probation violation. He was transported to the jail without incident and turned over to jail staff.
February 9
6:23 p.m.- Officers responded to an address in the 200 block of Cooper St. for a complaint of damage to property. Officers learned that a 16 year old male and his mother were involved in an argument. As a result, the male punched a hole in the wall and also punched the windshield of the car. The juvenile was referred for criminal damage to property.
