Church Mutual’s United Way support surpasses $65,000

Church Mutual Insurance Company’s support of the United Way this year reached an all-time high in employee contributions and the corporate match at $65,894.

“More than 81 percent of our home office staff participated,” CEO Mike Ravn pointed out. “In this economy, that is a remarkable number. Our employees continue to realize the importance of giving back to their community.”

“Working folks in the Merrill area never cease to amaze me with their caring generosity,” Merrill Area United Way Executive Director Lynn Zentner said. “Church Mutual employees recognize the need in Merrill and respond with open hearts.

“In 2010, Merrill United Way distributed more than $150,000 back to the community through 21 approved, nonprofit programs,” Zentner continued. “We helped youth reach their potential, improve people’s health and respond to basic needs of homelessness and food insecurity. The Community Service Fund supports 2-1-1, a call-in phone number that provides information and referral 24 hours a day, seven days a week.”

“The gifts of time and money do make a difference, and we increase the value of those gifts when we share them,” Merrill Area United Way President Tony Chladek added. “We thank Church Mutual for its continued example of living united to impact people’s lives in the community of their corporate headquarters.”

Founded on March 4, 1897, Church Mutual insures more than 100,000 worship centers and religious-related institutions. The company also provides property and liability coverage in the senior living market.
