Donald “Don” Anthony Kaminski

Donald “Don” Anthony Kaminski, age 90, of Merrill, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 29, 2024, while at Woodland Court Elder Services in Merrill, and under the care of Compassus Hospice Care.  He was born on June 22, 1934 to the late Leo and Margaret (Ewertowski) Kaminski in Chicago, IL.  Don attended and graduated from high school in Chicago, IL.  He met Judith Koplin, and the two exchanged marriage vows on April 16, 1955 in Illinois.  Sadly, she passed away on June 27, 2024.

Don had many different careers in life.  He owned a television repair business in Illinois before moving his family to Wisconsin, where he farmed, drove school bus as well as worked in the shop repairing them, and was an electrician with Northwest Petroleum.  Don enjoyed bowling and traveling to bowling tournaments with his family to different states, making a vacation out of it.  He also enjoyed woodworking, building homes, grandfather clocks and cabinets, and was a “jack of all trades” fixing things.

Don is survived by his children: Catherine (Scott) Weber, Stephen (Jennifer) Kaminski and David (Gail) Kaminski, her beloved grandchildren: Brad (Nikki Gerdes) Weber, Bernadette (Trent) Zuber, Brandi (Brandon) Binder, Korie (Scott) Karlen, Jeremy (Stefanie) Kaminski, Michelle (Ryan) Krueger, Katie (Jay) Proft, Daniel (Megan) Kaminski and Nicholas (Tracie) Kaminski, great grandchildren: Mariyah Weber, Faith Weber, Liberty Weber, Quinten Zuber, Xavier Zuber, Emma Binder, Anna Binder, Brandon Karlen, Darin Karlen, Nathan Karlen, Loren Karlen, Carter Kaminski, Reese Kaminski, Ashton Kaminski, Jordan Kaminski, Abbie Krueger, Miley Krueger, Drew Kaminski, Mason Kaminski and Layla Kaminski and special friend: Kennedy Gerdes.  He was preceded in death by his parents, wife: Judith Kaminski, brother: Leo Kaminski, special aunt: Lucille Kluczynski and parents-in-law: Herman and Julia Koplin.

Per Don’s request, there will be no services.

Don’s family would like to thank the staff at Woodland Court for the loving care during his time with them, as well as Compassus Hospice Care. Though we miss him dearly, we are grateful to have decades of memories to keep with us as we move forward with him being with us in our hearts and free from pain.
