9-16-24
6:35 a.m. officers responded to a report of vandalism. The complainant reported that sometime over the past 12 hours a large bolt was used to smash their vehicle’s window.
5:37 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. The two parties on scene were arguing over one party allowing the other inside to retrieve some personal items. Officers mediated this dispute to allow the personal items to be retrieved before advising the two to separate.
9:10 p.m. officers responded to the report of an attempted theft. The caller reported observing an unknown person had entered their vehicle as they walked out to where it had been parked on the street. The person fled the area on a bicycle, and no damage had been done to the vehicle and nothing was reported stolen.

9-17-24
4:53 a.m. officers responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reported the theft of a wallet and other personal items from her unlocked vehicle. Investigation is ongoing.
9:44 a.m. officers respond to a domestic disturbance. The victim reported being physically beaten by her boyfriend. The victim was taken to the hospital for her injuries, and the suspect was arrested on scene.
2:00 p.m. officers responded to the report of a theft from a vehicle. The victim reports approximately $40 worth of personal items were taken from the unlocked vehicle.

9-18-24
At 9:24 a.m. a sixteen-year-old student was cited for disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle after he spun his vehicle tires in the high school parking lot, causing a cloud of smoke.
At 9:39 a.m. a business reported finding a vial of suspected drugs on their property. The contents were found to be methamphetamine.
At 10:17 a.m. a caller reported someone had entered his vehicle the previous night and stolen items. Investigation is ongoing.
At 5:15 p.m. a citizen turned in a purse and contents she found at a laundromat.
At 9:44 p.m. a Merrill Police officer assisted the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office after it was reported a motorcycle had crashed on Hillside Dr. and the rider was attempting to fight the caller. Upon arrival, the rider immediately admitted he was intoxicated. The man was transported by ambulance to be medically assessed and the operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated investigation was turned over to deputies.

9-19-24
At 7:20 p.m. a caller reported his vehicle was stolen sometime during the day. Investigation is ongoing.
At 11:16 p.m. an officer on patrol located abandoned luggage along the road. The luggage and contents are being held for safekeeping at the Police Department.

9-21-2024
At 11:06 a.m. officers responded to a report of a possible vehicle crash. The caller reports that a large rock in her yard is damaged and vehicle parts were found strewn about. The caller gave a description of the vehicle after seeing it stationary in the yard around 12:30 a.m. Investigation is ongoing.
At 4:27 p.m. officers were dispatched to a local residence for a male wanted by the Department of Corrections. Officers located the male at the residence and took him into custody without incident.
