Two men died in separate fatal motorcycle crashes in Lincoln County this past weekend.
At approximately 1:23 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 71-year-old Martin L. Hrpcha of Kankakee, Ill., died when his motorcycle crashed on Spring Creek Dr. in the Town of King in Lincoln County. Preliminary investigation suggests he was driving eastbound on Spring Creek Dr. when his motorcycle “entered the shoulder of the road while negotiating a curve and rolled,” according to a release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO). The driver was unresponsive and was later pronounced dead by Lincoln County Coroner Valerie Caylor. Agencies assisting LCSO on scene also included the Tomahawk Fire Department and Tomahawk EMS. The crash remains under investigation.
At approximately 11:53 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 50-year-old Paul Bohman of Marshfield was killed in a single motorcycle crash on US Hwy. 51 near mile marker 211 in the Town of Merrill. Preliminary investigation suggests he was traveling southbound when he struck a bear, according to a release from the LCSO. The driver was unresponsive and later pronouced deceased by Lincoln County Coroner Caylor. The Merrill Police Department and Merrill Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
