Last Friday night, Sept. 13, 2024, the Merrill Varsity Football Team traveled to Medford where the Bluejays went up against the Raiders in their second Conference game of the season in the Great Northern Conference. It was a rough game for the Merrill players who remained scoreless throughout all four quarters while they watched their opponents make plays into the endzone and rack up the touchdowns. Ultimately, Merrill suffered a 40-0 loss to Medford.
“It was a tough one for us no doubt Friday night,” said Jason Wadzinski, Merrill Varsity Head Football Coach.
“We got some linemen who got nicked up and weren’t able to finish the game,” he said. “Going up against a stout line on both sides like Medford has, that didn’t help any.”
“We need to figure out ways to get our offense going despite a few injuries, to help keep our defense off the field,” Wadzinski said.
“We’re looking forward to Antigo this week and the War on 64.”
Merrill plays Antigo this Friday night in an away game. They would welcome a big hometown crowd to cheer them on as the Bluejays play the Red Robins, long-time rivals in the ongoing War on 64. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. in Antigo.

Box Score
Merrill 0 @ Medford 40
