Ronald “ron” E. Schneider

Ronald β€œRon” E. Schneider, age 92, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024 at his home in the town of Scott, while under the care of family. Ron was born on January 29, 1932 to the late Henry and Martha (Schepp) Schneider in Merrill, WI. On July 7, 1956 he married the love of his life, Shirley Grund of Merrill. Sadly, Shirley preceded him in death in 2021. Ron enlisted and proudly served his country overseas in France and in Germany from 1956 until 1958.

Ron, along with his brother Lloyd, ran the family dairy farm together in the town of Scott for many years. Ron was also a very well-known and trusted electrician. When he was not working on the farm he was doing electrical work for his many customers and friends. He was a lifelong houndsman, he owned, ran and enjoyed working with his many dogs throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting and running coyote, fox, or raccoon. His absolute favorite though was bear hunting. Ron ran his dogs for many years in Lincoln and in Iron County. He was a member of the Wisconsin Bear Hunters Association and the Merrill Houndsman Association.

Ron looked forward to going out west every year. He enjoyed watching many rodeos and attending the Bucking Horse Sale in Billings Montana. Ron was a great story teller and was always a helpful and generous individual to his family and friends. He was a people person and had many friends all over throughout the years. Above all he cherished his time spent with his family, to include his three children, eight grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren along with their spouses. He will be greatly missed by all that had a chance to meet and know him.

Ron is survived by his sister Judy Moeck of Merrill, his children Rhonda Woellner of Merrill, Mark (Luann) Schneider of Athens, and Gregg (Terri) Schneider of Merrill. His grandchildren Willow (Stacy Fox) Woellner, Heather Krzanowski, Maria (Ryan) Winter, Derek Woellner, Brittney (Brandon) Zinkowich, Brooke (John ) Breaman, Karly (Nathan) Voge, and Adam Schneider.
