Geiss Meat Service wins State Fair Champion Meat Processor

In early August at the Wisconsin State Fair, Geiss Meat Service of Merrill won Grand Champion for their summer sausage, and they also won Reserve Champion in the specialty cured meat products division for their Peppered Bologna Loaf. Their items were auctioned off at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Meat Products Auction benefitting the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation. Their summer sausage sold for $3,200 and their Peppered Bologna Loaf sold for $1,900.
Geiss Meat Service has been in business for more than 67 years. Going into their third generation, they are extremely proud of their rich history and achievements. The auction helped the Wisconsin 4-H Foundation raise nearly $130,000. The Wisconsin 4-H Foundation supports Wisconsin 4-H activities including 4-H conferences, teaching materials and workshops, and overall development of 4-H youth.
