St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Merrill recently announced plans to offer “Discovering Christ,” an educational series aimed at persons who are searching for added meaning and understanding in their lives. The series will start on Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, and continue for seven weeks, ending on October 23.
“Discovering Christ” is an experience that invites participants to hear the good news and personally encounter Jesus Christ. Babysitting services will be provided for attendees with small children. The program is free and open to all.
Sessions will begin with a meal at 5:45 p.m., followed by a welcome address and prayer. A video will be shown, followed by small group discussion. Evenings will end at approximately 8:30 p.m. A retreat will be conducted on Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
“Discovering Christ” is part of an educational series that was developed in Baltimore, Md. and is offered by ChristLife Ministries. The program is different from most other faith formation and education programs because of its four-part meeting structure and its use of video training and discussions.
