Incumbent Democratic Senator Tammy Baldwin kicked off her re-election campaign last week and stopped at Breitenmoser Family Farms on Joe Snow Rd, just outside of Merrill last Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2024. Baldwin’s Lincoln County area supporters joined her as she started her “Rural Leaders for Tammy” coalition campaign and Rural Wisconsin Tour launch at the farm; got a tour of the 500-cow family-owned dairy farm from the farm’s owner, Hans Breitenmoser; shook hands, chatted, and met with area constituents and supporters; and posed for photos.
Baldwin’s two-day campaign took her to Weyauwega, the Chippewa Falls area, and New London, before ending in Granton. The tour was designed “to highlight the importance of our farmers, rural businesses and agribusinesses, and rural Wisconsinites’ voices this Election Day,” a press release from Baldwin’s campaign said.
“Wisconsin is a proud rural state known for its world-class agriculture and the best workers in the world,” Baldwin said. “I know our farmers and rural communities always have our backs, which is why I promise I’m going to have their backs in Washington. Because when our rural communities thrive, Wisconsin thrives.”
