On Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024, at 1 p.m., the T.B. Scott Free Library will present their August Critic’s Choice Movie Event. In this month’s feature film, Harrison Ford portrays John Thornton, who befriends the big Saint Bernard mix, Buck, in a family friendly adaptation of the classic Jack London novel.
Many trials await the two in the Arctic Circle during the late 19th century gold rush.
Although considered an adventure drama, there are many lighthearted moments in the film. Interestingly, Buck is portrayed by a former Cirque du Soleil performer who is digitally transformed into the big, fun-loving dog.
