Merrill Area Public Schools recently announced Heather Kahr has been hired as the new Elementary Principal for Kate Goodrich Elementary School for the 2024-2025 school year. Kahr earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She has 16 years of elementary experience, most recently as a Principal in the Wausau School District. Prior to that, Kahr was the Associate Principal at Kate Goodrich, which affords her the unique opportunity to reconnect with students, parents, and staff in the District, while building new relationships with incoming families.
In her free time, Kahr enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and two children, hunting and camping, and watching her son play baseball and daughter participate in gymnastics.
Kahr is eager to return to the Merrill community and advocate for every child at Kate Goodrich Elementary School. “I am excited at the opportunity to return to Merrill and lead alongside such an amazing group of dedicated educators and colleagues,” she said. “I look forward to engaging with the community and working collaboratively to ensure our school continues to thrive and excel.”
